Data used by the app
Imposteur works entirely offline. The app does not create accounts, display advertising, or include analytics or tracking tools.
The following information may be stored only in the app's private storage:
- entered player names and languages;
- photos chosen for players;
- favorite players;
- game, sound, and haptic preferences;
- the current game, its votes, and its leaderboard, so it can be resumed after iOS closes the app.
This information is used only to set up and play games. It is not automatically sent to Steve Diesbach or used for advertising.
The photo picker provided by iOS lets users choose an image without giving the app general access to the photo library.
The app excludes entered player names, photos, and games from automatic backups. iOS may nevertheless include certain technical preferences in a device backup managed by the user. Imposteur cannot access that backup and does not receive a copy of it.
Voluntary sharing
The “Share leaderboard” feature prepares text containing the leaderboard and the player names displayed in the game. This text is sent only if the user chooses a destination in the iOS share sheet. The chosen service then processes the content under its own privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains in Imposteur's private container until it is deleted in the app's settings or the app is uninstalled. “Delete all data” also removes the checkpoint for the current game.
External services
Imposteur version 1.0 does not use network services or third-party SDKs.
